One car needed a new windshield due to flying rocks on the freeway : $320
The other car needed 4 new tires: $470
And today the car with the fresh set of rubber needs a new battery :(

You should have a road hazard clause on your insurance. If you do you probably won’t need to pay more that $50-100 for that windshield. Source: I had to do that myself in December.

Yeah I do however, I have a $500 deductible for glass repair. Maybe it is so high because I am on my 3rd windshield with this policy. I am not sure.

Damn! 3rd?!?! Where do you live?!?
I had the back glass on my wagon done for free. Glass replacement is free on my policy but it was still a pain since the only place to get the glass new was from Germany, 20 year old car problems... I ended up finding a complete rear hatch and had the glass removed and reinstalled on my hatch. Total cost was 500, and insurance gave me a check for 875 to cover any extra potencial labor (removing the broken glass, removing the good glass from the donor door, and then reinstalling it on the car).

Well it’s been over probably 8 years that I have gone through 3 windshields between the 2 cars. So it’s not too bad.
Besides the high deductible I am really happy with the policy with Geico. I have good coverage at a reasonable price, their app is nice, good customer service, etc.
